GARY PUCKETT AND THE UNION GAP
Gary Puckett and The Union Gap earned six consecutive gold records and outsold The Beatles in 1968 on a per-record basis. All five of their releases went gold — an achievement unmatched even by Elvis Presley. Gary Puckett also performed at the White House for Prince Charles and Princess Anne and received a presidential commendation.
Puckett has appeared in over 50 television specials, including PBS performances, and continues to tour nationally. The group gained worldwide recognition with hits like “Young Girl,” which reached No. 1 in England and sold over a million copies. Their Greatest Hits album remains one of CBS’s best-selling “Collector’s Series” releases.
He later joined the successful “Happy Together” tour, performing in more than 100 cities, and toured with The Monkees in 1986. In 1992, he recorded In Europe, released in the U.S. in 2001.
